We’ve selected our best broadband internet providers above, all with great prices and the widest availability for their tech type. But whether you can get cable internet, satellite internet, 5G home internet, or fiber internet depends on your address. Use our search tool above to find your best high-speed internet by zip.

5G Home Internet providers

Fixed wireless internet providers offer anything from 4G LTE internet to 5G home internet, and if you can get the latter, we suggest it. It’s as fast as cable, but can’t reach the same speeds as fiber. Still, it’s far more available than cable, so it’s a great choice for rural internet. We suggest either T-Mobile 5G Home Internet or Verizon 5G Home.

Many users love turning 5G Home internet products into mobile internet options either in their car, truck, or even RV, but be warned–using 5G products this way goes against the terms of service. We suggest using hotspot or data plans to get RV internet if you want to go the cellular route.

Satellite internet providers

Satellite internet providers like HughesNet and Viasat offer internet access to 99% of the United States, so even if you’re in hard-to-reach areas, you can get broadband internet speed. But satellite internet also has stricter data caps and more expensive prices. If you can get cable or 5G home internet in your area, try those options first.

Satellite can be a great choice for RV internet if you go with Starlink Roam, the LEO satellite provider's mobile, on-the-go internet option. It has lower data priority than Starlink Standard, but unlimited data you can bring with you on the open road is hard to turn down.

Cable internet providers

Internet cable companies are solid choices with speeds reaching 1,000Mbps and higher, but their availability is limited. Spectrum has better availability in more rural areas, while Xfinity has strong coverage in cities and suburbs. You’ll experience some slowdowns at peak times, but otherwise, cable internet keeps you connected.

Cable internet is, however, not very portable, so it's a fixed-location internet option only. There's no way to take it on the road with you. We advise looking into cellular data and satellite internet options if you want mobile internet.

Fiber internet providers

Fiber internet is the best of the best when it comes to broadband internet choices, but it’s not available in many places because it’s expensive for internet companies to set up. If you have it fiber-optic internet in your area, snap it up right away. It has fast speeds, low prices, and great reliability. AT&T Fiber and Verizon Fios are top-notch choices, but local providers are great too.

Fiber internet is also a fixed-location internet option, so you'll have to turn to hotspots, your phone's data plan, or Starlink Roam to get fast portable internet.
