DirecTV Channel Line-Up Guide

DIRECTV’s four satellite TV plans are loaded with entertainment, sports, and news channels: especially Premier, which has over 150 channels all on its own. As with any service, you pay more to get more.

What channels are on the basic DIRECTV package?

DIRECTV's basic package, ENTERTAINMENT, comes with all the channels listed in the table below. In fact, we've gathered all DIRECTV channels below so you can compare and contrast what you want and what you can get.

DIRECTV’s satellite plans range from semi-basic to super-loaded. Of its four channel lineups, we like CHOICE because it offers a great mix of sports, entertainment, and news channels at a reasonable price. However, if you’re looking to pay more (or less), DIRECTV’s other plans are worth checking out. 

With over 75 channels, DIRECTV’s ENTERTAINMENT plan is comparable to a basic cable package: you get local channels and a smattering of popular entertainment and news networks. It’s good for casual viewers, but if you’re a sports fan, you’ll probably find ENTERTAINMENT lacking.

As mentioned above, CHOICE gives you plenty of channels (105+) for your buck, including a wider array of sports networks than ENTERTAINMENT (including ESPN, ESPN2, ESPNEWS, ESPNU, NBA TV, and DIRECTV’s own Sportsmax). CHOICE is a good choice to keep your household entertained.

ULTIMATE, with over 140 channels, carries nearly every sports channel DIRECTV has to offer, including FS1, FS2, NFL Network, NHL Network, and others not included with CHOICE. It also features eight STARZ ENCORE movie channels, should you feel the need to take a break from the sports action.

Even the most hardcore TV fanatics might never get through all of its 150 channels, but DIRECTV’s Premier plan almost guarantees you’ll never be at a loss for something to watch. In addition to a complete sports lineup, PREMIER also includes full HBO, CINEMAX, Paramount+ with SHOWTIME, and STARZ suites.

CBS is a local affiliate TV channel, so CBS's number on the DIRECTV channel lineup will depend where you live. But local channels are usually found within the single- and double-digit range, so hopefully that helps narrow down your search.

FS1 is channel 219 on DIRECTV's channel list. It's also available in all of DIRECTV's packages.

Fox sports is a regional sports network (RSN), so its number on DIRECTV will depend on where you live. Still, it should be one of the following numbers:

Channel numbers for local affiliate TV stations that carry major broadcasters ABC, CBS, FOX, NBC, The CW, PBS, and MyTV vary by area on DIRECTV (and all other satellite and cable providers). But you'll likely find local channels within the single- and double-digit range.

ESPN can be found on channel 206 in the DIRECTV lineup, next to sister networks ESPN2 (209), ESPNEWS (207), and ESPNU (208).

The Fox News Channel is 360 in the DIRECTV lineup, next to Fox Business Network (359).
